Executive Director
Michelle Nicholson

Michelle comes to the Crisis Pregnancy Center of Lake Murray (CPC of LM) with a Bachelor of Science in Family Science from Montreat College in Montreat, North Carolina. Michelle was previously employed at the Crisis Pregnancy Center of the Wabash Valley in Terre Haute Indiana, where she served as both the Director of Development and as the CPC Outreach Coordinator for Indiana State University (ISU) for four years.

Michelle’s previous CPC work experiences include overseeing public relations, securing funds, and recruiting volunteers, as well as speaking to client groups, civic businesses, nonprofit organizations and churches in order to raise awareness of the Center and its services.  Michelle was also involved with marketing, advertising, and other venues for reaching clients and the community.

As the CPC Outreach Coordinator, Michelle developed and managed the ISU CPC Outreach Program by opening a new Center across from the ISU campus. Within this role she recruited and supervised volunteers in addition to creating and organizing programs and events to enhance public and client awareness of the Center’s resources.  During this time, she also completed an intensive CareNet Care Center Consultation/Training Seminar as well as an STD course from the State of Indiana that certifies her to administer STD and HIV tests to Center clients

Most recently, Michelle served as Chairman of the Steering Committee that conducted the groundwork for the beginnings of the CPC of LM. This group was comprised of six local churches who came together to determine if there was a significant need for a Crisis Pregnancy Center in the Lake Murray community.  The tasks completed by the Steering Committee during Michelle’s tenure as Chairman included administering extensive community surveys, making initial contacts with area churches, beginning the Center’s Articles of Incorporation and applying for tax-exempt status with the IRS.  Michelle served in this role from the committee’s inception in January 2011 until its end in July 2011, when a committee to nominate a Board of Directors was formed.  At this time, Michelle stepped back from the CPC of LM to allow the Board of Directors to continue to foundational steps of starting the organization, and was hired by the Board as the first Executive Director in June, 2012.
